At Mestres Pintura Industrial<\/a>, we had the opportunity to take part in a truly exceptional heritage restoration project: the intervention in the painting of the wrought-iron railings, planters and grilles at the rear fa\u00e7ade of Casa Batll\u00f3<\/a>.<\/p>\n

This work brought together technical precision, respect for historical origins and a deep appreciation for art. This space, privately used and originally belonging to Josep Batll\u00f3 and Amalia God\u00f3, is far more than an exterior area: it is a living work of art that reflects Antoni Gaud\u00ed\u2019s organic and symbolic vision.
He conceived this rear section as a vertical garden, where iron, ceramic and glass intertwine like a climbing plant, and where the railings and balcony grilles symbolise the branches that connect both sides.<\/p>\n

Painting Heritage with Precision and Respect<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Taking part in a project like Casa Batll\u00f3 represents both a technical challenge and a source of pride. With our expertise in high-demand industrial painting<\/strong>, we contributed to the restoration of the wrought-iron elements, ensuring that quality, durability and heritage respect<\/strong> were upheld in every detail.<\/p>\n

Our work focused on the painting process of the various pieces\u2014symbols of great artistic value yet highly delicate\u2014which required a high-level technical intervention to guarantee their preservation, both structurally and aesthetically.<\/p>\n

The first stage of the process was shot blasting<\/strong>, cleaning the piece by removing any traces of old paint, dirt or rust, leaving the iron completely bare and ready to receive the subsequent treatments.<\/p>\n

Once cleaned, the pieces were transferred to a specialised facility for cathodic dip coating (cataphoresis<\/strong>), an electrolytic process that forms a uniform anti-corrosive layer across both the interior and exterior of the piece, even in areas that are difficult to reach. This protection is essential to prevent oxidation and ensure the long-term durability of the iron.<\/p>\n

Afterwards, we applied a specific anti-corrosive primer<\/strong> to create a barrier effect against future corrosion and to protect those areas where the intricate weaving of the railings prevented full coverage during the previous process. The primer enhances resistance to humidity and atmospheric agents and prepares the surface, improving the adhesion of the final paint layer.<\/p>\n

Finally, we applied a high-resistance paint compliant with C4\/C5 standards, specifically designed for environments with high environmental exposure<\/strong>. This coating not only provides protection but also preserves the original visual and chromatic appearance, helping to restore the aesthetic value of the ironwork.<\/p>\n

One of the main challenges of this project was the highly complex shapes of certain pieces, which required specific techniques to ensure that both the paint and the anti-corrosion protection reached every corner, maintaining full coverage and uniformity over time.<\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
